National Tire and Battery

I came in for an alignment and was told I would need to purchase new tires before the employees could do anything with the alignment. I got my truck back and the alignment was not done properly.

The spec sheet even states that the thrust angle is in the red, which may result in tire wear, handling, or safety problems. I brought the truck back in and requested that the alignment be properly adjusted, only to be told by the technician that it could not be adjusted. Once I told the technician I knew better, he accused me of hitting something with the vehicle, then went on to say that he basically didn't get paid enough to care. I'm honestly at a loss here and feel like I stepped into an episode of the Twilight Zone.

I should mention that my original appointment lasted 4 hours. Yes, I sat in the lobby patiently for 4 hours only to be sent on my way with a less than satisfactory job.

I've had brake work done with NTB on all 3 of my new cars since 2016. It was always fair and never unacceptable.

Since I bought my 4th new vehicle, a 2021 truck, I've had problems with the brake replacements starting in 2024.

Always had extreme amounts of brake dirt on my rims (never happened with the other cars), had brake noises (like a "hard" braking sound) since the work was done.

I made a complaint in beginning of summer 2024, because mechanic at a different location said the problem is because not the best ceramic pads were used, and they weren't the brand (napa) that was to be used (they were from Advance Auto).

I received a call from the Regional manager who told me to go back to the original repair location and it would be redone at no cost.

I told the desk person what I was told about the pads and was told it's not true.

Some of the brakes were redone at no cost but I still had to pay for some of the repair.

On 11/4/24 I made another complaint on the website, because the same problems were occuring, after several visits, asking for brakes to be checked and was always told they're fine.

On 11/9/24 I went back again to complain and was told I'd have to pay (again) for redoing some of the work.

I've still had the brake dirt issue.

I had to pay again.

On 12/2/24 I had dealer work performed and complained that brakes are noisy and making dirt on rims. I was told rotors are in poor condition.

On 2/15/25 I went to NTB for oil change and reported what was told by dealer but was told they're still good and dealer just wants to make money on me.

On 3/24/25 I went to a different location to complain about the brake noise and dirt and was told the brakes are good but not the best ceramic pads were used.

On 4/8, 4/11, 4/29, 5/16/25, I had tire it oil change or better terminal work done, and was told brakes are good (50% front and 30% rear).

On 6/5/25 I went to a different location for oil change and battery terminal and was told I need brakes but that I should go to original location for any warranty work on the brakes.

On 6/18/25 I went to a different company for a lifetime alignment and was told brakes are needed, the right front being a #1 depth.

On 6/22/25 I went to original location to report the findings and was told the issue is an upper control arm needed and all brakes needed plus rotors and no warranty so I'd have to pay for it all. I declined.

On 6/22/25 I went to a different company for 2nd opinion and was told the brakes are needed but the manager couldn't understand what if have to pay for the costs when he saw my history of complaints, check ups and trying to follow thru with the necessary work without issues being properly dealt with. I had brakes done there and was told pads are free and I shouldn't have had to pay for them in the past.

(When I had addressed this at the original location, saying I used to work at napa and I know pads are free, I was told "nothing is free".)

So that was front pads, rotors, calipers for $874.54.

On 7/18/25 I had rear brake work done at the different company for $957.75. it was calipers rotors and pads.

I have not had the "hard braking" gripping noises since and was told the calipers looked old.

I borrowed the calipers to show them before I return them to that company as they need to turn them back in.

I'm hoping someone can look at them today.

This is non-sensical for all the monies I've spent in less than 1.5 years.

ID like a refund of these 2 totals that I had to pay for ON A CREDIT CARD since it's been way too much for me to afford,a total of $1832.29.

But to date no reply has been given.

I am writing to express my concerns regarding a series of issues with the tire installation service I received at your shop ( NTB- Gaithersburg) on 10th June 2025 .

I went to your facility to have my front tires changed. Unfortunately, the wrong tire was installed by you team a smaller tire than the usual one.

After returning home, I checked the tire and immediately realized the mistake. However, I didnt get the chance to address the issue until two days later because of my work schedule and then I had to take leave from work specially to take my car to your facility to change my car tire on 12thjune 2025 .

After couple of days my tire ( driver side ) started leaking so I returned to your shop later that same week, they fixed the air in my tire on 19thjune2025. However, after just one week, I began noticing that the tire started leaking again and Until now, I have not made any complaints because I believed this might have been a simple human error, and I chose to let it go but this time I really got frustrated as I have never faced these many issues with my tire before .so I made a complaint and the complaint team told me that regional manager will contact me same day , however I didnt get any call for next 4 days and mean while I went there and got my (drive side )tire changed from the same place (30june2025) .

The regional manger told me that the tire is made of rubber and any thing could happen to those tire and then after the argument , he told me that he will be sending me a $100 voucher on my email , which I never received till date !

Now again today ( 10june2025) I went to the same facility with the same issue (driver side tire leaking )

They told me that there is a crack on the rim and its not their fault and they will not do anything about it !

So now !!

Looking back, it was clearly a big mistake to come to your shop to get my tire changed.

Since the first visit ,I have had to return five times due to repeated issues starting with your team installing the wrong tire size.

Now, after all this, Ive been informed that my rim has a crack and while you may not want to take responsibility for that, the fact remains: you put the wrong tire on my car in the first place, which likely caused stress and damage to the rim. I never faced any issues with these tire and rim before , everything was going so smooth until I went to your facility!

I am completely done with this back-and-forth and with your service.

I am requesting a full refund for the tire service provided, and I expect this matter to be resolved immediately. The level of inconvenience, time wasted, and now the cost of a damaged rim all of this is unacceptable.

Took my car and had new struts front in alignment and they balance all four wheels when they were only asked to balance the frog got called before I took it to the store and had it fixed. It was $300 higher than what they quoted me the manager at the water store Patrick is nothing but a babbling idiot doesnt do anything but lie to you called and complained.

I had me take it to the Mckinney store on Custer. They worked on it for three hours and still is not alive. The car pulls to the right its worse now than it was before , it was this dripping now its falling.

Dont know whats going on but Ill need to take it somewhere where they have real mechanics and get it fixed. My suggestion is do not take your car to National Tire And Battery for any repairs.
